Laura Whiteoak BSc (Hons) MCSP MHCPC
Physio & Sports Massage
Laura is a Chartered Physio who qualified from The University of Plymouth with a BSc in Physiotherapy and is a member of the CSP & HCPC register. She has experience both in the NHS and private practice.
Her NHS work involved acute, community and outpatient settings treating a range of musculoskeletal and neurological conditions. She worked in trauma through the pandemic and rehabilitated patients at a particularly vulnerable time, utilising her compassion and friendly demeanour.
Her desire to work within MSK physiotherapy evolved from a 17 year background in the fitness industry along with her passion for dance since childhood, which she competed in nationally. She is an advocate for supporting people with increasing their physical activity regardless of age or ability and promotes overall health and wellbeing through a holistic approach.
Laura was formerly a primary school teacher, mainly working with key stage one children and was always heavily involved in the physical education side of her role. She decided to pursue a career in physio which has been a long-standing ambition of hers and prior to this, received a distinction in massage.
Outside of Physiotherapy Laura spends as much time as possible with her two children who have followed their mum’s footsteps with a keen interest in sport and physical activity. Laura loves anything fitness related and you will often find her training in the gym, cycling, walking her beloved dog Denzel and drinking coffee!
She has been described by patients and colleagues as enthusiastic, caring and professional with a dedication to supporting everyone that she works with.
