Back pain – the Ocean Physio way.

Back pain – the Ocean Physio way.

If you are experiencing back pain, you are not alone, as up to 80% of us will have back pain at some point in our life.

In fact, back pain is one of the most common reasons for visiting your GP, having days off work and coming for treatment here at Ocean Physio & Rehab.

Fortunately, most back pain is not serious and clears up relatively quickly, normally with a combination of modifying your activities and simple exercises.

However, with over 100 possible reported types of treatment available for back pain, seeking some help can potentially seem quite confusing.

National guidelines (NICE) recommend various treatment approaches depending on your type of back pain. The published guidelines can be found here https://www.nice.org.uk/guidance/ng59

At Ocean Physio we use our collective experience and these guidelines to adopt a simple but highly effective management approach for lower back pain. https://oceanphysio.com/#op_team

The good news is, that the vast majority of people just need a few Physio sessions to help them back to their normal activities.

Alongside this, some choose to join in our Clinical Pilates, Yoga or Exercise Classes as part of an ongoing management plan. https://oceanphysio.com/classes-at-ocean-physio-woodbury-clinic/

Others, often with more longstanding back pain find working with our clinical Psychologist Dr Shelley Bennett can be extremely helpful. Psychological Therapy for low back pain, alongside a Physio regime is recommended in the NICE guidelines.

We also have Orthopaedic Spinal Consultant Mr Shahid Khan consulting within the clinic, who is available to offer Specialist Orthopaedic opinions as required.

If you have back pain, and would like some advice, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

We’d be happy to help.
